The Singularity was an event in Central City caused by the reopening of an unstable wormhole due to Eobard Thawne's future power source, resulting in a destructive black hole that was ultimately stopped by Firestorm's sacrifice with help from the Flash.

In 2015, The Flash created a wormhole by colliding with the S.T.A.R. Labs particle accelerator's electron to travel to the past through the Speed Force. Later, when the Reverse-Flash tried to use the same wormhole to travel back to his time via the Time Sphere, the Flash came and stopped him by torpedoing through the wormhole and smashing the sphere, thus disabling his ability to travel through time; the former was erased from the timeline after his ancestor Eddie Thawne's suicide.

The wormhole the Flash created was unstable (there is only a 1:52 minute window to travel back to the old Allen house (Earth-1) and save Nora Allen, which Barry was advised against by a future self), and after a period of time, Caitlin and Ronnie successfully closed it. However, even after the wormhole was closed, Martin Stein stated that the wormhole reopened due to Eobard Thawne's future power source.

The wormhole increased in power and magnitude, and eventually became the Singularity.[1] It was later transformed itself to provide as a connection to another universe which made Zoom travel to Earth-1 and opened 52 breaches in Central City.[2] It was closed when Firestorm separated in the eye of the singularity.[3]

Later on, Cisco Ramon once vibed the Singularity due to Eobard Thawne's time remnant's presence/involvement in the recent events.[4] At least one of the breaches left open in the Breach Room (it connected to S.T.A.R. Laboratories) was stabilised with four rings that were eventually built into the speed cannon, and that portal was continually used to travel between more earths across the multiverse.[5]
