The Amazo was a ship led, however not captained, by a scientist named Anthony Ivo. It was manned by a crew of pirates under Ivo's employ.
History
It held various prisoners such as Oliver Queen and Anatoly Knyazev, on whom he wished to test Mirakuru, a serum that gave its users superhuman strength. Ivo wished to seek out the Mirakuru, located on a lost submarine somewhere around the island. The freighter was eventually taken over by Slade Wilson, a Mirakuru-enhanced individual, after he killed its former captain, "The Butcher" and cut off Ivo's hand, leading to his 'mercy killing' by Oliver Queen on Lian Yu.[1] Following Slade's defeat by Oliver and it being hit and severely damaged by a torpedo fired from a WWII submarine manned by Anatoly Knyazev, the ship became wrecked on the coastal shores of Lian Yu.[2]

Behind the scenes
- In the main DC comics continuity, Amazo is a robotic entity, capable of duplicating all the powers of the members of the Justice League. The robot was created by Anthony Ivo, who is associated with the ship in Arrow. This robot also exists in the Arrowverse.
