Synopsis

Blasted ten years into the future by the killer of his brother, the Flash must return to the present to prevent Central City from being taken over by criminals.

Trivia

• This is the first and only episode of the show to include time travel, a concept that would be exploited much more in the future of the Arrowverse.
• Similar to the comic storyline Flashpoint shown years later, Barry gained his powers back temporarily in the episode through Nicholas Pike's rehabilitation machine. Similar to Barry using an electric chair in the comic to get his powers back.
• The Flash Museum was showcased in the episode. Commonly used to remember heroes with the alias of the Flash in DC comics, primarily Barry Allen.
• The future version of Warren Garfield resembles Jim Gordon, a popular DC Comics character from Batman.
• As of this episode, the show's present day takes place in 1991.
  • However, due to the use of time travel, the majority of this episode takes place in 2001.
• This is the only episode of The Flash to air on Wednesday. All preceding episodes aired on Thursday, and all following episodes aired on Saturday.
