"Where's my husband?" "He's dead. Your friends were right. Ronnie Raymond sacrificed himself to the storm in the Singularity, gave his life to its power, his future to ensure its demise. But in that uncontrollable, irreversible chaos, his death gave me life. Now I'm something greater, something beyond death. I am Deathstorm."
"Resurrection" is the eleventh episode of the eighth season of The Flash, and the one-hundred-sixty-second episode overall. It aired on April 13, 2022.
Barry and Chester may have found a way to stop the "Black Flame" from hurting anyone else meanwhile Caitlin decides to handle a situation on her own, possibly putting more innocent lives in danger.[src]
Plot
2012: Caitlin and Ronnie meet for the first time when he goes to her for treatment for a burn he suffered while fixing up the pipeline, noting that "Dr. Wells" is pushing them hard. Caitlin invites him to drop back any time.
The Present: Caitlin continues to speak with the Black Flame as it communicates with her in Ronnie's voice, begging her to set it free.
Coast City: Iris is shocked at making Renee disappear while Tinya is furious. Sue attempts to call Barry for help but her phone disappears with the same green sparks that Renee did. As Iris collapses, Sue sends Tinya away for safety.
Joe shows Barry, Cecile, Allegra, Frost and Chester images of three other potential victims of the Black Flame: They all died in the last six months in unexplained fires and all experienced grief. Barry announces he and Chester have nearly got the Cold Fusion Sphere working. Caitlin arrives and recognises all the people on the board, realising she knew or met them, which reinforces her belief that the Black Flame is following her. She tells them the Flame is Ronnie, pointing to the fact that it includes radiation normally found in a black hole and that Ronnie would have been experiencing hormones filled with grief when he died, making him addicted to it. She and Chester come up with a way to use a Quantum Splicer and an R-CHEM chip to construct a new body for Ronnie.
Barry is sceptical both of the idea that Ronnie is alive (since the Flame has posed as people's loved ones before) and that the plan is a good idea. He attempts to dissuade Caitlin but she brushes aside his concerns. She does, however, realise she needs to tell Marcus. Meeting him at Jitters, she tells him about working with the Flash and Ronnie being the Flame, suggesting they stay apart until everything is sorted. Although she tries to present their relationship in a positive light, Marcus realises they're over.
Frost finds Barry checking on the Cold Fusion Sphere and suspects he still intends to use it. Barry thinks Frost wants to as well. Frost says she needs to support Caitlin whatever her feelings. Meanwhile, Chester is doing a live stream of his work on the Quantum Splicer. Allegra interrupts and quietly suggests that not everyone is like him and giving them advice on how to raise the dead is a bad idea. Chester agrees to keep it offline.
2013: Caitlin announces to Ronnie that she wants to go to Mapleville for their anniversary, to a bed and breakfast where they had their first weekend away together. Ronnie is slightly bemused but agrees.
Cecile hears the voice of the Flame, asking where Caitlin is and demanding to be free. She tells Barry she could also sense Ronnie and thinks he is in torment and wants to die. They tell Caitlin but she refuses to consider it, insisting that bringing Ronnie back is what he wants.
2013: Caitlin and Ronnie's car has become trapped in a snow drift in Piedmont State Park on the way to Mapleville. Caitlin lets slip that she was planning to propose. Ronnie suggests they look to the future instead of trying to recreate the past and reveals he was planning to propose too. They both accept the other's proposal.
Barry and Cecile update Frost, Allegra and Chester. Frost suggests using the Quantum Splicer anyway but Chester says if Ronnie isn't willing, it would just cause an explosion. Barry concludes they need to use the Cold Fusion Sphere to kill the Black Flame and release anything left of Ronnie. Frost volunteers to tell Caitlin. She reminds Caitlin that she was in her subconscious when Ronnie died, and saw the pain she went through as a result and pushing those that loved her away, as well as how happy she was with Ronnie beforehand. She then gives Caitlin the Quantum Splicer.
Coast City: Iris is recovering and Sue updates her on what happened. Before they can do anything, however, Tinya returns, still furious. Sue tries to protect Iris but Tinya just walks straight through her and uses her powers on Iris, who disappears. Tinya leaves, threatening to do the same to Sue if she tracks her down again.
Caitlin realises where Ronnie is: Piedmont State Park. A group of campers there are telling ghost stories when the Black Flame emerges from their camp fire. Barry's team pick it up. The Flash speeds there with the Cold Fusion Sphere, leaving Allegra and Cecile to guide the campers to safety. The Flash uses the sphere to absorb the Black Flame with Chester monitoring. However, just as he succeeds, Frost and Caitlin arrive and Frost blasts the sphere from his hands, releasing the Flame. Caitlin approaches it and it forms into a humanoid figure. When she attaches the Quantum Splicer, the figure turns into Ronnie.
Ronnie is recovering back at STAR Labs and Caitlin tells Barry, Joe, Cecile, Allegra, Garcia and Frost that he should be fine. Barry and Cecile both apologise for getting it wrong; everyone is pleased to have Ronnie back. That night, Barry tries to call Iris but just gets voicemail. Sue arrives at his apartment and tells him Iris is missing, which leaves him in a state of shock.
Caitlin finds Ronnie is missing from the med lab. She discovers him in the lounge, with his back to her and talking in a more sinister manner as he notes he knew he could trust her to do what he wanted. When he turns round, his eyes are black. He announces Ronnie died in the singularity but gave birth to him at the moment of death. Activating the Quantum Splicer, the creature turns into an armoured flame figure and calls itself Deathstorm.

Trivia
Allegra told Chester the phrase "noche mas negra" which means "the blackest night", which is most likely a reference to the DC Comics crossover storyline, the 'Blackest Night'.
In a flashback, Ronnie tells Caitlin "we need to stop trying to recreate the past, and focus on the future." This foreshadows the reveal of Deathstorm, as Caitlin is trying to recreate the past by resurrecting him.
Chester uses the expression, "Great Otis Boykin!" Otis Boykin was an African-Amerian electrical engineer who invented resistors and electrical control devices used in guided missiles, computers, transistor radios, and pacemakers.
Caitlin mentions wanting to go to Mapleville, referencing Adventure Comics #461 (1978) "The Multiple Murders of Mapleville," in which on a trip through a small town with Iris, Barry Allen is somehow compelled to use a gun on a man, and is framed for murder.
