"I'm not asking for some superhero suit and to instantly be who Dad was. I got a lot to learn and I wanna learn it. But being able to do what I can now, if I can save one family from losing someone they love like we lost Dad, then I have to."
Jonathan was raised in Metropolis and attended Metropolis High School, where he played on the school team and dated Eliza. After Martha's death, Jon and his family attended her funeral in Smallville, where Clark revealed he is Superman and Jordan developed Kryptonian powers. After Clark was fired from the Daily Planet and Lois resigned, they decided to move to the Kent farm. Jon and his brother transferred to Smallville High School, where they befriended Sarah Cushing and eventually joined the Smallville Crows. Jon struggled to adjust to his new life after he and Eliza broke up and he was jealous of Jordan's powers.
After Tal-Rho's defeat, Natalie and John Henry Irons began living on the Kent farm Lois' request, and Jon ended up befriending Natalie. After finding out that Candice was selling X-Kryptonite to one of his classmates, Jonathan doubted their relationship until he decided to buy some from her. Jonathan became addicted to X-K and lied that his own Kryptonian powers were manifesting. He was eventually exposed and moved to online classes by the school board in lieu of expulsion, as well as kicked off the Crows. Jon started being hunted by his Inverse Worldcounterpart as Ally Allston was getting ready to merge both worlds until Superman stopped her.
Jon's powers finally manifested after Superman's (temporary) death during his battle with Doomsday.[2] Like his brother, Jon was nicknamed Superboy by the media.[3]

What role does Jonathan Kent play in the Smallville Fire Department?
Jonathan Kent, a Smallville High School student, is a member of the Smallville Fire Department. He is the adoptive grandson of Jonathan Kent Sr. and Martha Kent, and the nephew of Lucy Lane. His upbringing took place in Metropolis, where he attended Metropolis High School.
Jonathan was a happy, athletic kid, while Jordan had destructive outbursts and tantrums that were eventually diagnosed as social anxiety disorder.
As a child, Lois and Clark took Jonathan and Jordan to spend a summer in Smallville, where they met Sarah Cushing. There, he broke a rope by throwing a football, surprising his parents. So, Clark took him to the Fortress of Solitude to see if he had superhuman abilities, but the Fortress tests said it was unlikely.
In his teens, Jonathan was on the Metropolis High School football team, which included Jimmy Cutter.[4] Jon was slated to be the first freshman to be starting quarterback for his varsity football team at one of the most competitive high schools in the United States. At some point, Jonathan started dating Eliza.[5]
Moving to Smallville
Discovering Clark's secret
Jonathan talks to Clark.
One night, after having dinner with Jordan and Lois, Jonathan went to his room and made a video call with Eliza, when Clark returned home, he went into Jonathan's room and asked if he had any news, Jonathan said that he actually had starting QB for varsity. His father congratulated him and after an embarrassing minute, he left the room, leaving Jonathan and Eliza talking. The next morning, while drinking coffee, Jonathan overheard his parents talking about his grandmother Martha, he asked if they would see her in Smallville, Clark said they were late and Jonathan said Smallville is boring. When Jordan came in, Jonathan questioned him about his outfit, with Jordan answering him sarcastically. Then they went to school.
Jonathan at Martha's funeral.
When Martha died, Jonathan went to her funeral in Smallville, There, Jonathan asked his brother, Jordan if he had taken his pills, Jordan said he was not his mother, with Jonathan saying that someone had to look after him, when Jonathan saw Sarah Cushing and her family arriving, he warned Jordan and they went over to meet them with his parents, Sarah said she was sorry for his loss, when his parents left, they talked about the summer they met.
Jonathan and Jordan take Sarah to the barn.
Then Sarah asked what had in the Kent Farm barn, so he and Jordan accompanied her there. While in the barn, Sarah said that almost anything there could kill them and that Smallville sucks. Jonathan said that Clark kind of loved living there and that it can't be that bad.
Sarah then asks for a phone number from one of them, Jonathan thinks it's his but it's actually Jordan's. Sarah then picks up the phone and says that there will be a bonfire tomorrow and he can go. Jordan tries to impress Sarah by climbing on the scaffold without a ladder to reach the router, but he falls hard on the ground when the straps that hold the steel beams are broken. Jonathan then tries to save his brother from the steel beams by jumping in front of him, but Jordan manages to turn them over and save them both. Sarah alerts Clark, who finds the boys, and quickly takes the steel beams off of them.
Jonathan and Jordan are examined.
Then, a doctor examines them and says that they only have mild concussions. Jonathan asked the doctor if his diagnoses are correct and Clark says the two are lucky. Then they go to their rooms. Jonathan says he missed training for the week and Jordan asks him if he really cares about it now. Jonathan said that if he wants to stick to something, it must be Sarah Cushing. He takes Jordan's cell phone and mocks the message the other one sent to Sarah, calling him freaky.
Jonathan and Jordan find Kal-El's pod.
The next morning, Jonathan and Jordan investigate the barn; Jordan finds it strange that they are not dead. Their search reveals a spaceship, which scares Jon. Jordan takes a crystal from the ship and Jonathan asks what it is, with Jordan responding that whatever it is, it is not from Kansas.
Jonathan and Jordan discover that their father is Superman.
When Lois and Clark return home, the twins confront their parents and Clark reveals his origins; to prove his alter ego, he lifts his car over his head while flying, surprising the twins, who feel they have heard lies all their lives. Jordan stormed out and Jon followed him, warning Clark to stay away from them. At that night, they go to Sarah's party at Shuster Mines. Jordan kissed Sarah,

so Sarah's boyfriend tries to hit Jordan, and Jonathan steps in front, but soon several boys are beaten up, until Jordan uses his heat vision out of rage and explodes the bonfire. When Clark gets there, he hugs him and says that Jordan powers are manifesting. At the Kent Farm, Jonathan asks what will happen to Jordan and Clark says he doesn't know. Jonathan then says that Jordan can control, which is like learning to drive, if the cars were indestructible and with giant lasers. His parents scold him and he goes to his room. Jonathan is happy that he does not have powers; it proves that his athleticism is human, not half-alien. The next morning, the twins talk to Sarah about what happened the night before. He asks after privacy for them to talk alone.[5]
Later, Lois and Clark decided to move to Smallville with their children, to be closer as a family and allow Jordan to explore his powers. His parents also decided to keep Jordan out of school until he could control his powers, so Jonathan went to the new school alone, while Clark took Jordan to the Fortress of Solitude, leaving Jonathan a little jealous. In school, Jonathan was talking to Sarah when Sean, Tag and Timmy stopped him.

At the time of football training, they sabotaged and humiliated him, preventing him from receiving the team manual, frustrating him and making him angry for having moved. When Clark and Jordan returned home, he heard his brother complain that he was not special as he believed, and the two started to argue until Lois appeased the situation and the two went to their rooms. Then they went to the Cushing family barbecue, where they met Sarah and Sophie Cushing. He also talked to Eliza in a video call. That night, they reconciled and Jonathan promised to help Jordan discover the truth about his powers.[6]

The next morning, they were trying to paint the house until Clark heard something and had to leave. Then they went to school, where Sean and other members of the football team intimidated Jordan, despite Jonathan's efforts to protect him. Then his father suddenly showed up at school, making the bullies go away and making the twins angry. Later, Jonathan was at football practice when Tag warned him that his brother was coming to participate. Jonathan tried to convince Jordan that it was a bad idea, but he was insistent and secretly using his powers, he proved to be dominant on the field. Jonathan then got angry because his brother suddenly decided to succeed in something that was always outside of him,

and asked why he was playing and that he always hated sports. They also chatted with Sarah at Victoria May's, until Lana came out and yelled her out. When his parents learned that Jordan had joined the team, they forbade him to play. Jonathan was initially pleased but when he spoke to Jordan to make sure he was okay, he realized how depressed Jordan was. He realized that another player sent a message to Jordan, who had never had friends, and then he realized that playing on the team was the best for him. Jonathan then convinced Clark to let Jordan play for the team, telling him how his confidence and social skills had improved while playing on the team.[1]
Jonathan and Sarah at Corey Wellnitz's lake house.
When Jordan became the star of the team, Jonathan was put in the background. After the game was over, they went to a party at Corey Wellnitz's lake house, where they met Sarah. When Jon realized that Tag Harris was behaving strangely, he tried to inform his father, but Tag insisted that he was fine and Clark left to deal with the fugitive criminal Killgrave. The next day, Sam Lane told the twins not to distract their father from his duties as Superman. Later, Jon and Jordan followed Tag when he ran off alone into the forest. They found him suffering immense pain due to the uncontrollable vibration. Jon wanted to call Clark for help, but Jordan reminded him of Sam's warnings, and blaming himself for Tag's situation, tried to help him. Tag threw Jordan away, knocking him unconscious, so Jon used the signaling device to call Clark. When he arrived, Jon saw as his dad carried Tag into the atmosphere, where he passed out. Back at home, Jonathan admitted to Jordan that he was jealous of him and assured him that he was not responsible for Tag's condition. Clark then asked why the twins waited so long to call him when they learned the truth about Tag and he and Jordan revealed Sam's order to disturb their father with their problems, to the joint fury of their parents.[7]
Jon is working on the farm with his family to prepare for the upcoming Smallville Harvest Festival. Later, he and Jordan go to school, where Jon receives a call from his girlfriend Eliza. Jon invited her to visit Smallville for the annual Harvest Festival, and although she initially agreed to come, but she breaks up with him. When they return home, Lois goes to console him. Jon later told his parents that he wanted to move back to Metropolis, as a friend of his had agreed to let him stay with them. At the Festival, Jon met up with Timmy Ryan and another boy, and got drunk on liquor they had brought with them. They drunkenly made fun of Jordan and Sarah Cushing, and Sarah stormed off in disgust at his behaviour. Jon apologized to Jordan but when their parents found them they found he was drunk and sent them to home. At home, Clark told him that he would not be punished, but asked him to give Smallville a chance, telling him they would discuss allowing him to move to Metropolis if he was unable to find happiness here.[8]
When Jordan was attacked by Tag Harris and started having headaches, Jonathan wanted to tell his parents, but Jordan begged Jonathan not to as he wanted to play with the Crows, which would be against Jonathan's old team in Metropolis. In the game, Jonathan was sent to replace the quarterback and the Kent brothers managed to rally the team and lead them to victory, with Jonathan scoring the final touchdown. While Jonathan was scoring, the Metropolis team beat Jordan up and he lost control of his powers, needing Clark to block his heat vision with his hand.
Back in the hotel room, Jonathan told Clark about Jordan's migraines and he berated them for not telling him. Clark had to leave when Lana called him. Afterwards, their teammates asked them to go out and celebrate, which Jonathan reluctantly agreed. Jimmy Cutter, who turned out to be Eliza's new boyfriend, and a few other Metropolis players approached them and began harassing Jordan, with Cutter trying to goad him into a fight. Jonathan tried to calm him down but Jordan tried to punch Cutter anyway, so Jon caught Jordan's fist in midair, which broke the bones in his hand and wrist. Upon returning home, Jon blamed Jordan for this.[4]
Learning about John Henry Irons
Jon and Sarah at school.
At school, Jonathan ran into Sarah, who asked about Jordan and was being cold to him because she knew the Kents were hiding something from her. Jon told her that Jordan had been injured by Tag and was suffering from headaches. Upon returning home, Jordan asked Jonathan if he was hitting on Sarah and Jon was annoyed that he was just trying to help him. Later, Jordan heard Clark being assaulted by a strange and told Jonathan, so they took a car and drove to the scene and managed to incapacitate him. After he was stopped, Jon used his hammer to destroy the solar flares that were weakening Superman. Clark and Lois ended up telling them the truth about the Stranger (John Henry Irons) and Morgan Edge.[9]
Jon and Jordan at school.
At school, Jon advised Jordan to help Sarah with the musical revue.
While Irons was imprisoned, Lois and Clark were given custody of his van. Jon asked to help Lois search the van and there they found out that in Iron's world, he and Lois were married and had a daughter named Natalie. Jon also saw footage of Superman from that world murdering Lois. Later, Jon searched the van for weapons, hoping to protect himself too, and accidentally activated the security system, which failed to recognize him and locked the van to kill him. Lois called Clark for help and he arrived and protected him from the bullets, destroying the security system. Jon said he wanted weapons to protect himself, which angered Lois, but they eventually reconciled.[10]
When Jordan got sick, Jon thought he was going to have to lie again to help him while he went to the Fortress of Solitude. When Jon arrived home, he found Emily Phan and Jasper Townes, who were sent by Morgan Edge to kill Lois. Sam used a Kryptonite gas to briefly incapacitate them and Lois and Jon managed to escape to the barn where he had hidden a number of weapons he stole from Irons. Kyle Cushing arrived, claiming to have followed Emily from school, and asked Jon to give him the gun. When Emily and Jasper entered the barn, Jon threw them away with the gun, but Kyle, who had also been altered by X-Kryptonite, blew up the gun and grabbed them both, threatening to kill Jon before Lois' eyes, but Superman arrived in time to save them.[11]
Jonathan, Jordan and Sarah watch the kryptonians fly away.
Jon eventually learns from his father not only that Morgan Edge is a kryptonian named Tal-Rho but that he is also Clark's brother and therefore his uncle. The next day, Sarah told Jon and Jordan how she believed her father's alcoholism had gotten worse. Believing she deserved to know the truth, they told her that Kyle was possessed by a Kryptonian and took her to see him at an army facility where he was being held by the DOD. Jon then gave them privacy to talk. When multiple citizens from Smallville who were converted started to group together to kill Superman, Jordan and his brother hid while his father dealt with the army, though Clark didn't return home afterwards.[12]
After Tal-Rho's attack Jon and Jordan go talk to Sarah, who thanks the two for being straightforward with her when everyone else seemed to have secrets. Sarah then requests a second alone with Jordan. When returning to their house, Tal-Rho dropped from the sky before the three to tell them that his father won't be returning, after telling him to leave Jordan attacks Rho with his heat vision but he was no match for the very experienced kryptonian as he got thrown to the ground by Rho's heat vision. His father eventually arrives in a weakened state to stop Rho from killing them and says that he will do anything he desires if it means saving his family, Tal-Rho agrees to this and takes Clark.[13]
Lois later reassures the two brothers by saying that his dad will eventually fight through this problem and he will win. The next day Jonathan tells Jordan that he can find their dad using his super hearing like he did the time Clark was attacked by John Henry Irons.
Jonathan reunites with his father.
After reassuring his brother Jordan managed to locate their dad with lot of effort, the boys later told Sam and Lois that Clark was on Tal-Rho's fortress in the Badlands. When John Henry Irons decided that he had to kill Superman in order to stop him, as Clark was being controlled by consciousness of another kryptonian, Jonathan decided to talk to Irons by telling him that there was always another way of doing things. Irons eventually refused to kill Clark and instead saved him from Zod's control, Superman later comes back home to reunite with his family and thanks both boys for helping him.[14]
The kidnapping of Jordan
Three weeks after Tal-Rho escaped from containment, Lois asked Jon to go with Jordan while he spent some time with Sarah but he refused as he didn't wanted to act as his chaperone. The two brothers later went to a party at the house of one of their friends just as Tal-Rho and Leslie Larr started an attack on Metropolis. When Jordan received a call from their grandfather Jon told him to ignore it, believing that it was nothing too important.
Jon tries to shoot the Eradicator with a Kryptonite pistol.
Jon and Jordan later found out through a TV broadcast about the attack on Metropolis, worrying when his mother almost was killed by Leslie Larr the same way an alternate version of her died but she was saved by John Henry Irons. After watching the fight on Metropolis at the party, Sam Lane went to the house where they were at in order to bring Jon and Jordan back to the farm so that they could be safe along with Sarah, during the ride home they were attacked by the Eradicator who flipped the car, resulting in Jon's arm breaking again. Jonathan later tried to use one of Sam's kryptonite pistols that was in the car to shoot Tal-Rho, but he dodges the bullet and captures Jordan. Jon tells Sarah to go get his dad while he quickly found the ELT that was lost during the crash and called his dad telling him that Jordan was kidnapped.[15]
Jonathan holding the sonic weapon.
When Superman found Jordan and tried to help him, he learned that he has been eradicated and Zeta-Rho possessed his body now. Zeta-Rho/Jordan beat him while he refused to fight back but Zeta escapes when he heard Tal-Rho summoning the Kryptonian Defense Council. Lois Lane later opted to enter Jordan's mind and help him fight back the eradication and Zeta-Rho's consciousness, while Jonathan was handed a modified sonic weapon belonging to Thaddeus Killgrave to protect his mother if any Subjects arrive to attack them.
He waited while his mother was inside Jordan's mind, and reminisces about happier times, promising to Jordan that he would never do the things that made him unhappy. He was rejoiced when he saw Jordan awaken, believing that his mother was successful. However, he was forced to shoot when he learns that it was Zeta who has awoken.
The Kent family sees Natalie's arrival.
He was able to keep him down but was soon overpowered. Zeta/Jordan choked him and was about to use his heat vision, while Jonathan says he loved Jordan, when Jordan finally awakened and they hug each other tightly. Later, Jon and his family arrived at the Cushings to celebrate, and he connected with Tegan Wickhem. After a memorial for Jor-El's A.I., he and his family saw Natalie Lane Irons crash land at the Kent Farm.[16]
X-Kryptonite problems
Problems with Candice
Over the summer Jonathan began dating a girl named Candice. When Clark left them unsupervised while he rescued a sinking North Korean submarine they made out on his bed and came close to having sex until Lois caught them. Lois was already shaken by the arrival of Natalie Irons on Earth-TUD25 and this caused a fight between her and Clark when he was less angry about it than her. That night, Jordan came home after a date with Sarah that had ended prematurely, and Jon warned him that Sarah may be planning to break up with him.[17]
Timmy Ryan, a previously substandard player, miraculously surpassed Jon over the summer and became the team's presumptive starting quarterback. When Jon saw Timmy bench pressing 315 pounds, he suspected that he had begun using steroids.[18] Jon confronted Ryan during practice, who admitted to using steroids and claimed Candice was his dealer. They got into a fight, which was broken up by Clark and Coach Gaines. Clark pulled Jonathan aside and was uncharacteristically angry, yelling at his son and experiencing an uncontrollable burst of heat vision.
Jonathan's eyes glowing red.
Timmy was confirmed as the team's starting quarterback and, facing the prospect of another season on the bench, Jon approached Candice. She admitted to selling drugs as her family needed the money, and Jon asked her to sell him the same X-Kryptonite she was giving Timmy.[19] Jonathan started taking on the X-Kryptonite, Candice gave him, gaining enhanced vision and reactions. Back from school, Jon was acting strange and Natalie asked what happened, he said it was "his meds" and she replied that if they were the ones who made him like this, he better stop taking it.[20]
Lying to his family
Sam offered Jonathan to help out with training Jordan. Jonathan was quickly humiliated when Jordan was able to match his greatest efforts without even trying, and he left to take X-Kryptonite, which gave him strength and durability similar to Jordan's, and he returned to challenge Jordan to a "sparring match" that quickly degenerated into a fight. Jonathan remained unusually aggressive for the rest of the day, and when Jordan tried to confront him about it that evening they argued until Jon's eyes suddenly glowed red. Jordan realized that Jon had powers, which he assumed were natural. Jon claimed his powers had recently started developing and asked Jordan to keep it secret from their parents, pretending he was afraid that Clark would make him quit the football team.[21]
Jon was given an opportunity to be starting quarterback in a game against the Crows' long term rivals, as Timmy was supposedly off sick. The X-Kryptonite allowed him to lead the team to a crushing victory, but it felt hollow to him as he had only achieved it with the aid of the drugs. Jordan confronted him in the locker room, having deduced that Jon was using X-Kryptonite. They argued and Jon almost blasted Jordan with his heat vision. Jon immediately regretted this and tried to apologize but Jordan refused to listen and they went home in silence. That night, Jordan told Jon that Timmy had been pulled from the team because he had been caught taking X-K.[22]
Jon decided to give up the X-Kryptonite and the next day at school told Candice he didn't want any more of the drug. However, the sheriff's department swept the school looking for drugs and Jon took Candice's stash to protect her, planning to dispose of it. He was caught with the drugs and refused to reveal where he had gotten them from, and was subsequently expelled from Smallville High.[23] The Smallville Crows were forced to vacate all their wins so far and the principal decided to withdraw from competition for the rest of the season, the first time that had happened in Smallville history.
Lois and Clark made Jon work at a local convenience store while also taking classes online. As he was walking Candice home after his first shift, they were attacked by Mickey, her supplier. Jon tried to defend Candice, but Mickey used X-Kryptonite to give himself superhuman strength and speed and he was overpowered. Fortunately, Jordan arrived to save them and Jon told Mickey to stay away from Candice. Meanwhile John Henry and Natalie moved out of the farmhouse into their own place.[24]
Clark disappeared for a month after chasing Ally Allston into the inverse world, and Jon feared he would not get the chance to redeem himself in his father's eyes. A warehouse storing X-Kryptonite in Smallville burned down, and Lois and Sam realized that the X-Kryptonite ring was much bigger and more well-funded than they had believed. They told Jon that he had to reveal his dealer and promised to grant whoever it was immunity and protect them from the traffickers. Jon was able to convince Candice to come forward and she gave them the location where the X-Kryptonite was processed.
Jon walked her home and along the way suffered a sudden headache caused by his inverse self crossing over to their earth.[25] Jon went home to find his counterpart, Jon-El, waiting for him. Jon-El began to merge with Jonathan and easily threw Jordan aside when he tried to stop him. Fortunately Clark chased Jon-El through the portal and arrived in time to break them apart before the fusion could be completed. Jon-El told Clark he couldn't stop what was coming and flew away.
Clark told his family everything he had seen in the inverse world, that Jon-El was working for Ally Allston and Ally had fused with their other self and gained immense power. He also warned Jonathan that he would likely suffer the same painful visions he had, and told him that no matter what had happened between them, he loved him and would not let Jon-El harm him.
Later that night Jonathan had a vision of Jon-El on main street in Smallville. As he did not have powers, the visions were even worse for him than they had been for Clark. Clark chased after Jon-El but he got away. When he got home, Lois told Clark about Candice and Clark confronted him, telling him that he should not have lied, but Jon replied that Clark had lied to him for fourteen years; and whereas Jon had lied to protect someone else, Clark had lied to protect himself.
The next day Lois went to City Hall to talk to Lana, but she was not there and Sarah claimed she had seen Jon outside her house that morning. Lois came home and told Clark that Jon-El may have captured Lana and Clark let it slip that he had seen Jon-El in Smallville the previous night but had not tried to capture him because Lana would have seen him use his powers. Jon and Jordan were both angry that Clark had chosen to protect his secret rather than warn Lana or take the opportunity to stop Jon-El before he had the chance to hurt anyone. Later, Jon had another vision and saw that Jon-El had Lana locked in an old slaughterhouse. Clark went to rescue her but Jon-El hit him with a Kryptonite bomb and returned to the Kent Farm to merge with Jonathan. Jordan defended Jonathan and eventually defeated Jon-El. Meanwhile Lana's counterpart came through the portal to merge with her but she was stopped by John Henry and Natalie.
Jordan told Lois that he was planning to reveal his secret to Sarah, and she acknowledged that the family seemed to be constantly at odds with each other. Clark came home and she didn't tell him what Jordan was planning to do, but Clark told them all that, since keeping his secret had put Lana in danger and her counterpart would likely come after her again, he thought he should tell her that he was Superman. He said he wouldn't do it if they thought he shouldn't and the entire family agreed immediately and unanimously that he should.[26]
As it had become clear that the drugs he was caught with had not belonged to him, Jonathan was allowed to return to Smallville High School. However, he had become nihilistic and frightened after his encounter with Jon-El and learning about Ally's godlike power. On his first day back he encountered some of his former teammates who blamed him for getting the season cancelled, despite the fact that most of them were also using X-K and Jon did not rat them out when he got caught. Jon ranted at them that their problems meant nothing and the world was about to end, until Jordan and Natalie pulled him away. Natalie recognized that Jon was on edge and suggested that they skip school. She took the twins to her home, where she had been secretly building her own suit of armor. She had intended to use it herself to help her dad, but offered it to Jonathan to protect himself from Jon-El. The suit was unfinished and required a power source, so she took the twins into the Shuster Mines to collect X-Kryptonite to power the suit.
The kids made slow progress manually digging the X-Kryptonite from the rock, so Jordan used by heat vision to cut a chunk of it off. He inadvertently caused a cave-in but saved the others with his super-speed, leaving behind the X-K they had already gathered. Although the mission was a failure, they had fun together and got Jonathan out of his mood. They spent the rest of the day hanging out together at the Irons' home and Jonathan and Jordan stayed for dinner with John and Nat.
The next day Clark told the twins that Lana had asked them to stay away from the Cushing family after learning his secret. To take their minds off it, Clark planned a day of farm work for the three of them. While they were working on the tractor together, Jon told Clark that he felt like he had no future as he could never play football again and that he had let everyone down, but Clark assured him that he was not a disappointment and promised that he would always be there for him. He also admitted that Jordan had snuck out to talk to Lana. Clark went out to get Jordan and the two were gone for the rest of the day. Jon completed the work by himself and when Clark and Jordan returned he was visibly hurt at being left out, but before Clark could talk to him he was called away to save Sam from Ally.[27]
Ally drained Clark's energy and he almost died, but John Henry and Natalie were able to resuscitate him and get him to a hospital. John and Lois told the kids that Clark was stable but unconscious, and his powers appeared to be gone, possibly forever.[27] Clark eventually regained consciousness and returned home, but he was severely weakened and his powers were not recharged by the sun. He and John Henry Irons went to the Fortress to find a way to speed up his recovery, and while they were gone the worlds began to merge and the inverse world's sun appeared in the sky. John and Clark returned from the Fortress and told them that there was no way to restore his powers. Their parents assured them that there was still a chance to beat Ally and told them to stick together, and asked Jordan to use his super-hearing to look out for threats.
Lana-Rho attacked the farm and Jordan attempted to fight her off but she easily overpowered him. Fortunately the Irons' arrived and chased her off. Later that day the Kents went to a town hall meeting Lana was holding to reveal the threat of the inverse world. Clark came as Superman to tell the skeptical townspeople that Lana's story was true and that he had lost his powers. When the townspeople went home, Jon-El attacked Clark in front of his family and Jonathan was unable to do anything but watch. Jordan burst in, locked in a fight with Lana-Rho and managed to temporarily get the upper hand over them both, but he was simply outnumbered and the two inverses began beating him down. Natalie arrived in her armor and carrying her father's hammer to help Jordan, and together the two of them defeated the evil doppelgängers.
Natalie disappeared after the fight but Jordan's hearing picked her up at the farm. The Kents went home and she told them that John Henry had disappeared trying to stop Ally and she had nowhere else to go. Lois and Clark told her she could stay with them. The worlds began to merge, flickering between the farmhouse and its bizarre dilapidated home from the inverse world.[28]
His mother's disease
Family Tragedy
27 days after the defeat of Ally Allston, Jon practiced with his mother to pass his driver's test, although he was slightly frustrated by how nitpicky she was, Jon calmed down after a conversation with Jordan. The day of his driver's test, Jon found out that Coach Gaines was the examiner, but he still managed to pass. On his and Jordan's birthday, their parents made a party which Clark had to briefly leave in order to fight Henry Miller as Superman.[1]
Jon and his brother hug their mother.
Jonathan and Jordan decided to go to a party in Metropolis organized by Jon's ex-girlfriend, Eliza. Eliza tried to resume her relationship with Jon, but he didn't want to since he was dating Candice. While playing some beer pong, Jordan and Sarah got into a fight with Travis Michaels, which prompted them to leave. Jordan would later freeze Travis' car and take a picture of it to show Jon, Sarah and Natalie. After returning home, the brothers would have their parents reveal that Lois had stage-three inflammatory breast cancer, leading the two boys to embrace her.[29]
Conflict with Emmitt
Natalie then offered Jon and Jordan to give Lois a watch made of kinetic energy that belonged to her doppelgänger as a gift to get her through chemo. After Jonathan's truck was stolen, Jordan and Natalie agreed with him that Candice's father, Emmitt Pergande, was the one behind the crime. While Jon didn't want to get Candice into trouble by reporting the incident, Jordan and Natalie agreed to help him take matters into their own hands. Tracking the truck to a warehouse, they helped Jon recover the truck by taking down all the goons while him drove away from the warehouse.[30]
Jonathan confronts Emmitt.
After an argument with his brother, Jon went to confront Candice's father about his stolen truck, which made Emmitt punch him in the face. Upon returning home with a bruised eye, Jon told his mother about what happened, leading her to go talk to Emmitt, who pulled a gun on her. After Jordan told Clark about the incident, he confronted Emmitt in Victoria May's; which had; resulted in Emmitt leaving town for good and Candice temporarly staying at the Kent Farm.[31]
Joining the Fire Department
While driving his truck, Kyle Cushing offered Jon a job as an intern at the Smallville Fire Department after he stopped and asked to help him fix his tire. Jon later went with Candice to the Smallville High Valentine's Day dance and learned that she would go on to live with Topeka with her Aunt Peggy, deciding to still see each other on weekends, which conflicted with his potential new position at the Fire Department. After telling Candice about this, she urged him to choose the job over her because of everything he already sacrificed for her. The two then went back to the Kent farm and slowed dance together with Jon's family.[32] Joining the Fire Department as a trainee, Jon helped the Cushing family find Sophie when she went missing, relating to her as the forgotten member of both of their families.[33]
Going to the Fortress of Solitude to search for a way to save his mother with Kryptonian science, after arguing with his father and the A.I. of his grandmother, him and Jordan went home. Jon and Jordan later had a conversation with their mother after finding their last will and testament.[34] Finally becoming an official member of the National Junior Firefighter Program, Jon was immediately blamed for recklessly heading into the flames during a fire after Jordan left a person who he rescued next to him. This event not only lead to an argument between the two brothers, but raised Kyle's suspicions as there was evidence of his freeze breath stopping the fire.[35] After helping Natalie see Matteo Mannheim again, Sarah made Jon and Jordan apologize to each other and reconcile.[36]
Jordan and Jon later went to hangout with Sarah and Candice respectively. After the party, Jon had an argument with his dad about them not having time to hang out together anymore. Jordan was also seen by George Dean, Jr. after he saved him and Sarah from a car accident with his powers during the party, later telling Kyle about the incident, which led to him arriving at the Kent Farm to confirm his suspicions, only for Clark to reveal his identity to him.[37] During his mom's bilateral mastectomy, Jon calmed down his brother when he had a panic attack at the same time he developed x-ray vision, being unable to control it at first around the same time the power at the hospital went off, with Superman going to stop the Mannheims as they were behind it.[38]
Now knowing that Jon was Superman's son, Kyle began giving him special treatment at the Fire Department, something that he told his father about. After Clark told Kyle to reduce his special treatment, Kyle was angry at Jon, believing that he should've told him personally about the problem instead of going behind his back and telling his dad.[39]
The Death of Superman
Losing his father
33 days later, the day of the meteor shower on Main Street, Jon and Jordan were told by their parents that they were going to use their Uncle Tal's villa on Italy to go on a family trip so they can get away from their current problems and reconnect. Around the time the meteor shower was getting closer, Jordan, Jon and Natalie were introduced to their grandfather's new girlfriend, Gretchen, with the two brothers also learning that Natalie and John Henry might be moving to Metropolis. Later that day, the Kent family had diner at Vicky May's, where the twins told their parents about Natalie moving out and Sam Lane's new girlfriend.
Jordan and his family watch Superman fight Doomsday.
The night of the meteor shower, Jon and the rest of his family were witness to his father facing a monstrous creature created by Lex Luthor to kill Superman, with them trying to go help before his dad told them no to. Seeing the monster take Superman into space, Jordan was unable to hear his father breathing anymore, with Jon and the rest of his family fearing the worst and not aware that Superman was continuing the fight with that creature on the Moon.[40]
While waiting for Superman to return, Jon tried to stay calm and tell his brother how he tries to not let fear take him over. The next evening, Doomsday returns with Superman's body. To the Kents' horror, his heart has been ripped, essentially killed him. Jon and Jordan cry over his body, with many Smallville locals witnessing. Jordan brought Clark's body to the Fortress and had Lara place him in stasis. Meanwhile, Lois warned the boys against going after Lex, who has figured out Jordan and Clark's Kryptonian identities after Jordan confronted him. Despite their mother's warning and Jon's pleas, Jordan went off to find Clark's heart in hopes of saving him. Meanwhile, Sarah concocted a plan to distract Lex while Jon went into his hotel to do the same thing. Lana found out what they were doing and went to find Jon.
That night, Jon and Lois found Jordan in tears at the Gazette. He told them Lex destroyed Clark's heart and they could never bring him back. Jon blamed him for refusing to listen. They held a wake for Clark the next day.
Jon and Jordan saw Lois' article regarding Superman's death. Jon angrily pointed out that they would have had a chance to save him if Jordan had just listened, and stormed down into the cellar. Jordan followed and tried to explain he was trying to save their father. Jon tried to be understanding and begged to be left alone, but Jordan continued to press for his forgiveness. Overcome with rage and sorrow, Jon yelled at Jordan for making things about himself and trying to be a hero, which was what caused Clark's death and now he will never get to see him again. He then started rummaging the cellar and punched a wooden beam until his fingers snapped. He sat on Clark's pod ship in tears. Suddenly, his hearing blared with sirens and traffic noises. He looked up and his vision started seeing through solid layers until he saw his fingers' broken tissues reform. Freaked out, he muttered "what the hell" and released a tiny cloud of icy breath. Jordan pointed behind him and he saw the pod activate to his presence. He then realized his powers had finally awakened.
Within no time, Jonathan has discovered most of his powers, such as flight, super speed, heat vision, super strength, and super breath.
Following the defeat of Lex Luthor and death of Doomsday, Clark brought Jon and Jordan to the Fortress of Solitude, where he gifted them with new Kryptonian super-suits built with Kryptonian technology. The Superboys used their suits during their superhero career alongside their father, Steel and Starlight.[42]
Personality
"In my family, I'm pretty much always the one that's left out. Myparents, my brother, they're kind of a big deal."
While Jonathan's twin brother, Jordan Kent is quite timid and closed off, he is social and confident. His father has said that, things seem to come easy to Jonathan, seen, with how popular he is in conjunction, with an athletic prowess that, has given him a shot at being the quarterback of the football team as a freshman. Jonathan also seems to have inherited his father's bravery and compassion, as he tried to help Tag, despite how much of a hard time Tag had given him, since he arrived.
Jonathan seems to have a healthy relationship, with both of his parents. He seems able to talk, with his mother about personal issues and seems to actively let his father know what's going on, with his life. Though, he was upset, when he had learned that both of his parents were hiding the fact that, his father was really Superman, lying to both him and Jordan all their lives. Yet, it seems that, he is quickly adjusting to this new revelation.
Jonathan is protective of Jordan, encouraging him to socialize; with his childhood friend, Sarah Cushing and impulsively jumping to try and shield him from the poles or defending him, when he was attacked, by teens at the bonfire. He also chose to leave his life in Metropolis behind as he realized that, coming to Smallville would help his brother adjust to the new changes he seemed to be going through. While it was clearly a hard decision and one that, he is struggling, with he bares through it as best as he can for his brother's sake, even told Jordan that, he would be there to help him navigate through, whatever was happening to him if no one else would. He also on occasion teases and banters, with Jordan like any other sibling though doesn't seem to mean any ill will, by it. Though they did go on to have an intense argument, they quickly made up as they can't stay mad at each other.
But despite this, Jonathan's patience and tolerance towards Jordan's antics does have it's limits, after Jordan broke his wrist while he was trying to prevent him from hurting Jimmy Cutter after the latter had taunted him, as Jordan let his emotions get the better of him again, he was extremely furious.
Later, when Jordan eavesdropped on Jonathan's conversation; with Sarah, via super hearing and accused him of trying to move in on Sarah, he became extremely furious and puts Jordan in his place, coldly stating that, he has always had his back, whenever someone called him stupid, weird or outward, as he never believed any of it, because it is not true, Jonathan also had stated to Jordan to never spy on him again.
Jonathan has started to take the wrong path by taking X-Kryptonite. While the meteor rock grants him powers, it seems to have also an effect to his personality traits and humanity. For he acted more sarcastic, brutal, and brash towards his brother.
But after Jordan had called Jonathan out on being a drug addict, he stopped taking X-Kryptonite and withdraw from it.
Jonathan is very loyal and protective towards the individuals that, he cares about, for example, when he protected his girlfriend, Candice Pergande from being exposed as a drug dealer, but he had ended up getting caught, with X-Kryptonite, but he still had refused to reveal, who the actual drug dealer was, despite being threatened, with expelled, due to keeping Candice from being charged. While withholding this from his family, he shows a very high extent of responsibility for sacrificing his life for his girlfriend's sake, but also causing himself desperation and sadness as his willingness brought him to tears.
But Jonathan does not regret protecting Candice at all, despite the fact that, his life almost got ruined, in the process.
Powers and abilities
Powers
"Okay you can fly. Can you do anything else?" "Yeah I mean pretty much everything dad could." "That's not possible." "Well I’ve done heat vision, and the ice breath, plus I’m like a thousand times stronger. Oh, and I even heard Mr. Cushing getting Chrissy some new car, sounded like a minivan.""
—Lois Lane and Jonathan explain how all his powers instantly manifested at once[src]
The Kryptonian ship notices Jonathan's hybrid physiology.
Human-Kryptonian hybrid physiology: Because of Jon's human-kryptonian hybrid genetic structure under the effects of a yellow sun, he possesses the same potential powers as any kryptonian.[5] Originally, Jon's powers didn't manifest at all until he had an emotional outburst while grieving the death of his father. Unlike Jordan, who gained different abilities gradually, Jon got them all immediately after his Kryptonian genes kicked in and quickly adjusted to them; possibly due to his already peak human prowess, he could do them more maturely at levels similar to his father's. [2] And as a result of his ability to quickly adapt to them, Jon’s powers also appear to be far more potent than Jordan’s. However, as stated by the A.I of Lara, Jon’s powers will never surpass his father as his human DNA is too limiting, much like to his brother.
Solar Energy Absorption: Jon's cellular structure allows him to absorb, store, and metabolize the energy spectrum from a yellow sun to fuel his abilities. Similarly to Jordan, as a half-Kryptonian, his body could only take in smaller amounts of solar energy than his father's, resulting in his powers manifesting later. While his father obtained his powers at age 4, his brother at 14, everything being easy in life with peak human abilities for 16 years, kept his emotions against elevating to the range of solar energy from rising as Jordan commented that his heart rate never rose and X-Kryptonite understood this, so it only turned on his powers for a short time while he was in his hidden state, but the reaction to losing his father triggered enough rage for all his Kryptonian powers to bloom at their full potential.
After naturally waking his Kryptonian powers, Jon claimed to be a thousand times stronger.[2] He demonstrated being strong enough to playfully lift a huge wooden pillar alone off the back of his father's truck and punch through a large iceberg while training with Clark in Arctica.[43] During his vigilantism, Jon managed to catch a car in mid-air and push a dangling truck from leaning off a bridge.[3] Jonathan was also able to catch a flying truck right before it could crash onto Brit & Dunn's Quick Mart.
Jon withstands walking through fire.
Superhuman durability: Jonathan also possesses great durability which seams to be closer to his father's than Jordan's, making him tougher against damages. As shown when training in the arctic, he places his hand on the edge of an iceberg and flies through one without a scratch before landing on the ground with ease, was even blasted by Hacksaw Kronick weaponized with X-Kryptonite flamethrowers able to walkthrough it and still remains unharmed.[43] When being attacked by Natalie's suit, Jon gets briefly knocked unconscious after being hit with a missile to the chest and survives implying he could be bulletproof. Right before being strangled by the exo-suit remain awake long enough for him and his brother to destroy it, even going up against Luthor who blasts a red sun cannon on Jonathan to be blown into the latter's old apartment room and rarely obtains a scratch.
Jon can move faster than the human eye can see, as shown when he began to fly and run.[2] Though still not nearly as fast as his father, Jon was fast enough to fly from Smallville to Metropolis in mere minutes.[43] He was even quick enough to intercept and catch a missile from Natalie‘s suit coming at his girlfriend. Jonathan's speed seems to be similar in comparison to Jordan's.
Superhuman stamina: Due to Jonathan's alien nature, he is able to fly, run, and use much energy without tiring. However, big, long and tiring fights can slightly tire him including cause starvation as after going on multiple missions to Chicago, Toronto, San Juan, and Gastonia during the morning, his flight back home build up a huge appetite as he ate two plate meals at Vicky Mace which was enough to fuel his metabolism.[3]
Superhuman breath: Jon was able to cool the air after breathing, developing freezing breath.[2] During his first mission, he flew into a burning mall fire to put it out with his ice breath which briefly puts out some flames.[43] He also uses his cold breath during his simulated training against John Irons exo-suit which slows it down limitedly.
Accelerated healing factor: Jon's enhanced metabolism grants him accelerated healing, able to recover far quicker than most humans. In the case of small, minor wounds, he can heal instantaneously like his father. It is possible he possessed this ability to an extent prior to his Kryptonian genes awakening, as he was able to heal a broken arm remarkably fast on two separate occasions.
Jon has the ability to fly, which he awakened along with the rest of his powers and was able to control within a few hours, flying to multiple cities and back within minutes.[2] Jon continued to evolve his flying abilities following his father's return, being able to keep up with him during training.[43]
Longevity: Due to being born half-Kryptonian, Jonathan can age slower and live longer than regular humans, remaining at his prime as long as he's under the exposure of the “yellow” sun and enable him to potentially live almost indefinitely without showing signs of aging.
Heat vision: Jonathan originally acquired heat vision after using X-Kryptonite, but had no control over it.[21] After awakening his latent Kryptonian genes, Jon naturally gained heat vision, being able to control it this time.[2] He demonstrates this power when fighting against Natalie's exo-suit being remotely controlled, combined with his brother's heat vision to melt the armor. He even uses his power to blast at Doomsday long enough to distract the creature away from the town of Smallville.
Enhanced senses: Due to Jonathan's solar powered physiology, his senses are enhanced and are more potent than the normal humans sense. Even through his senses are not as strong as a fully genetic Kryptonian such as his dad, Jonathan can still hear, see, and sense things better than normal. His enhanced senses grant him superhuman hearing, allowing him to hear better and locate people through sound waves, and the ability to see through walls.
As Jonathan cut open fruits, his nose can smell the sensational aspects of them intensely; such as slicing an apple in half, its scent of aromatic substance was delightfully noticeable to him.[2] His sense of smell even picks up a wet dog stench off Jordan’s first super suit.[43]
Superhuman hearing: Super hearing was Jon's first power when his Kryptonian genes awakened.[2] While flying with Clark, Jonathan listened in on the excessive amount of his father’s heartbeats. Despite gaining this ability so quickly, Jon still isn't able to use it to the same extent as his brother Jordan, being unable to pinpoint voices from afar.[43] On his mission as a vigilante, Jon heard screams of people all the way from Chicago, later hearing in on a bargaining conversation from Luthor happening in the town's bar.[3]
X-Ray vision: The moment Jon's powers awakened, he started experiencing x-ray vision.[2] On his first mission, he used his vision to detect Gretchen surrounded by fire.
X-Kryptonite enhancement: While exposure to the effects of the yellow phosphorescence endows normal humans with some Kryptonian-like powers, Jonathan's hybrid DNA still may not manifest his latent powers as they only come through X-kryptonite alone and his natural abilities return to standard feats after the effects of each dosage of X-Kryptonite wear off. His athletic prowess was enhanced, as in one football game he threw for 356 yards.[22] However, after Jonathan stopped taking the X-Kryptonite drug, his powers have disappeared.[23]
Enhanced vision: After taking X-Kryptonite, Jonathan was able to see extremely small objects down to the atomic level, and magnify objects for his eyes to see.[20]
Superhuman strength: Jonathan's second dosage of it increased his strength to inhuman lengths, as when he punched his brother to the ground a shockwave blow was visible.[21] The X-Kryptonite even made his personality more aggressive as being approached by Jordan caused Jonathan to effortlessly push him on the seats.
Superhuman durability: The X-K also seemed to increase Jonathan's resilience as he took strikes from Jordan and was rarely injured. He was even able to hit him without his fists breaking.[21]
Superhuman reflexes: While under the effects of X-K, Jonathan's reflex's were elevated to superhuman levels. As shown when Jonathan was able to dodge punches from Jordan.[21]
Heat vision: Jonathan acquired heat vision, but had no control over it.[21]
Abilities
"Powers are overrated anyways. Plus this just confirms what I've known to be true all along." "Yeah?" "Yeah. My skills on the field are legit."
Young Jonathan throws a football at a rope to break it apart.
Jonathan is a physical specimen and a talented athlete. At a young age, he was able to easily rip through a rope by throwing a football at it. Before moving to Smallville, he was slated to be the first freshman to be starting quarterback for his varsity football team at one of the most competitive high schools in the United States of America. His performance on the field is so impressive that his parents speculated he might have inherited latent Kryptonian genes from his father and unknowingly used them. Jonathan is overall in excellent shape and sports a well-muscled build. He also has quick reflexes, as he went to cover Jordan when metal poles fell on him. His speed was able to move faster than average as he sprinted over to catch his brother’s fist before he could strike at Jimmy Cutter. He is also tough, as he only received a mild concussion from the poles landing on them, and strong enough to briefly overpower Sean and his friends in a fight, he was even able to easily pick up and swing the kinetic hammer. Jonathan has also been referred to as a "star quarterback." His conditioning even allows him to recover quickly from injuries though not superhumanly as he received bruises from getting beaten by multiple bullies but each scar was clear by the time before starting school in Smallville a week later, he also got his arm broken twice in a year and completely healed without complaints. The capacity in his lungs support him to breathe foreign chemicals in the air and remain active, as when raiding into a warehouse to get his truck Natalie deploys a smoke bomb to cover the whole building which Jon held his breath long enough to enter and reclaim his vehicle.[30] His agility is flawless as he can perform a backflip when dancing around a crowd.
Skilled driver: Before getting a license, Jonathan is a capable driver as he is able to drive his parents' truck with his brother over to their father and crash into John Henry Irons.[9] As well as driving his truck through a wooden door after a warehouse raid.[30]
Skilled marksman: Jonathan blasts Zeta-Rho possessing Jordan's body with the sonic weapon. Jon has trained on how to use firearms from John Henry Irons. Later also being guided by Sam Lane on how to fire them.[15]After Jon found Irons' weapons, he hid them in the barn and used one to shoot two Kryptonians, temporarily tried to use a pistol loaded with Kryptonite against Tal-Rho, and was handed a modified version of Killgrave's Sonic blaster to protect Lois Lane while she was inside Jordan's Eradicated mind. He used it to fight Zeta-Rho who possessed Jordan's body.
Jon spars with Jordan.
Skilled hand-to-hand combatant: Jon at first glance, was able to brawl against Sean before being overpowered by his group at the bonfire and showed moderate skills when tackling Timmy repeatedly hitting him in the face until he accidentally strikes at his father. Then later afterward becomes a capable hand-to-hand combatant; as his combat style is comprised of boxing while training with Jordan; such as defense like slipping, bobbing and weaving. Offense moves like hooks and crosses while being in good stance.[21] When raiding a warehouse with his brother and Natalie, he ran straight to his truck and gets confronted; by a thug; who attempts to attack him only for Jonathan to quickly throw one single punch hard at the latter; which completely knocks him out cold.[30] Since his powers manifested, he trained in simulations at the fortress to be skillful enough to take on Doomsday with support from his brother.
Indomitable will: Jonathan has a strong sense of responsibility. Knowing Jordan can't be seen using his super strength, and how dangerous it is, he intervened and caught the punch meant for one of the bullies from Metropolis, though it cost him time in a cast.[4] He was even eager to learn from John Henry how to work the weapons from his arsenal Jon had took for protection against foes. During the face of encountering humans with Kryptonian-like abilities, he was brave enough to shoot them head on and when it came using a sonic weapon against Jordan being brainwashed at the time and the device got destroyed, Jonathan while lifted by the throat used his brotherly love to break his brother out of it saving each other.[16] Jonathan also took the fall for Candice, hesitant; but believing her life shouldn't be ruined for dealing X-Kryptonite. He would soon regret this decision, as he broke down crying, as Jonathan has adjusted to Smallville and is at risk of being expelled, along with a strained relationship with; both of his parents, Clark and Lois.[23]
Weaknesses
Kryptonite: Due to being half-Kryptonian, Jonathan is most likely vulnerable to the exposure of Kryptonite, a radioactive mineral from the planet Krypton. Depending on the nature of the said Kryptonite, it will cause a different adverse effect on him.
Green Kryptonite: Green Kryptonite not only can physically hurt Jonathan, but also it weakens his physical attributes; making his resilience equivalent to that of a normal human, but if he is exposed to enough Green Kryptonite for too long, it will eventually kill him. However, due to him being a half-Kryptonian, like his brother, Jonathan may also have higher resilience to Kryptonite than his father.
Red Sun Energy: Jonathan is powerless when exposed to the energy of a red sun.
Former weaknesses
X-Kryptonite dependency: Before his natural powers manifested, Jon temporarily abused X-Kryptonite to keep up with another athlete on his football team who was abusing it to get ahead. Since quitting the X-kryptonite, Jon lost all weaknesses that came with it.
Equipment
Super suit: After the defeat of Luthor, Clark recruits his sons as sidekicks, with Jonathan receiving a suit made from Kryptonian technology from the fortress. This outfit is blue on the upper body part, black wrists and boots, red colored pants, and the insignia of the "S" is red and yellow as his father's.
Pickup truck: After Jordan saved Tal-Rho's life, Tal gave both Jordan and Jon pickup trucks.[44]
Former equipment
Superboy Suit: Shortly after getting his powers, Jordan would give Jon the suit he used during his heroics following their dad's resurrection.[43] It was a black protective suit to hide his identity from his enemies accompanied by a pair of pilot goggles which belonged to Sam Lane's father during World War II.[31]
John Henry Irons' weapons: After Jon found Irons' weapons, he hid them in the barn.[11]
Thaddeus Killgrave's weapon: Jonathan Kent was handed a modified version of Killgrave's sonic weapon by John Henry Irons to protect Lois Lane while she was inside Jordan's Eradicated mind. He used it to fight Zeta-Rho who possessed Jordan's body.
X-Kryptonite inhaler: After buying from his girlfriend Candice, Jon uses an inhaler to ingest X-K to activate his Kryptonian powers.[20] After getting caught Jon stopped using and has gotten rid of his inhalers.
Despite being a human-Kryptonian hybrid, for unknown reasons, Jonathan didn't display any Kryptonian powers until the traumatic loss of his father.
According to Jonathan's maternal grandfather, Sam Lane, he enjoys going fishing with him.
Behind the scenes
In the DC comics, Jonathan Samuel Kent is the son of Superman and Lois Lane, who was born during the Convergence storyline. He became the third Superboy after Clark and Kon-El, and joined the Super Sons, the Legion of Super-Heroes and eventually the Justice League. Following the Infinite Frontier storyline, Jon became the new Superman and began dating the posthuman reporter Jay Nakamura.
There is no in-universe explanation to the fact that since Season 3 he is played by a different actor.
