- "Oh, no."
- —Ray Terrill upon seeing CatCo Worldwide Media (Earth-X)/Star City (Earth-X) get consumed by the antimatter wave, about to overwhelm Earth-X[src]
Citigroup, formed from the merger of Citicorp as the bank holding company for Citibank, is a financial services business located across the United States (Earth-1). It has branches in New York City (Earth-1), Starling City (Earth-1), Central City (Earth-1), and most notably Los Angeles (Earth-1).
History
While running through Central City (Earth-1), Barry Allen/The Flash accidentally traveled to National City (Earth-38) through a portal while testing out his tachyon device; after spending a little time there, he was able to return home with Supergirl's aid (only a few seconds passed on Earth-1).[1][2]
A model of Los Angeles, used for Central City (Earth-1) along with many other cities.
A few months later, Barry and Cisco traveled to National City (Earth-38) again, to enlist Supergirl's help[3] in fighting off the Dominators' invasion of Earth-1.[4]
The Waverider crashed into the city of Los Angeles (Earth-1).
Aberration timeline
In 2017, the city of Los Angeles (Earth-1) is majorly distorted from the one from the normal timeline: where besides the Waverider crash-landing on the PwC tower and into a major road, it contains monuments and buildings (such as London's Big Ben, a twisted sculpture and possibly another, this particular/the future Tower, and a blue-lighted building from Central City), having "broken time".[5]
The Waverider crash landed in an alternate Los Angeles 2017.
The Time Bureau later fixed all of the anachronisms, by sending the non-Los Angeles (Earth-1) buildings and dinosaurs to their respective places and/or times using their time couriers' portals; including teleporting the spire, Big Ben, this city's tower, and the blue building back to their home cities.[6]
Anti-Monitor Crisis
The Wellenreiter engages Waverider, here when the timeships both fly above the Central City (Earth-1) skyline modelled off of some Los Angeles skyscrapers.
Due to the Crisis on Infinite Earths and the destruction of Star City (Earth-X), CatCo (as on National City (Earth-38)) was destroyed.[7] However, it was remade in a new universe,[8] and also simulated virtually for National City (Obsidian Platinum).[9]

Trivia
The skyline of Star City (Earth-X).
- Most of the Los Angeles-modelled cities go unnamed when shown in their respective series, but their distinctive architecture is often quite obvious:[10]
- if one looks closely at a particular shot of Earth-X when a city is being consumed by antimatter, it may be possible to see a very tiny logo of CatCo (Worldwide Media) on one of the Citigroup buildings (of which there are many, duplicated throughout the scene).[11]
- One can also recognise other L.A. buildings in the shot, if looking closely. It is possible that models of National City were used to show the example Earth-X cities, coincidentally resembling L.A..[12]

Behind the scenes
- Despite being a sponsor in the past, SunTrust Foundation (now Truist) is now not sponsoring JA Finance Park; but other businesses (such as Citigroup/Citicorp, FedEx, HSBC, Mercedes Benz, PwC, US Bank, UPS/the UPS store, Zürich Foundation,) and many more, also now sponsor the JA Finance Park.[13]
An assortment of Central City (Earth-1) buildings, each modelled off of some in Los Angeles.
- The HQ of CatCo, as on Earth-X, Prime, or Obsidian Platinum, is located in the FourFortyFour South Flower Building, formerly the headquarters of the company Citigroup in Los Angeles;[14] where many exterior shots of National City are typically used.[15]
