"Sub-Zero" is a video game character from the Mortal Kombat franchise. He appears as a downloadable character in Injustice 2 on Earth-1 and as a playable character in Mortal Kombat II on Earth-Prime.

Original multiverse

While playing Injustice 2, William Clayton played as Sub-Zero against Felicity Smoak, who chose Blue Beetle. The two fought in Gorilla City, with William as Sub-Zero winning. Felicity was about to challenge William to a rematch when Oliver Queen arrived, and the game was paused.[1]
New multiverse
While stuck on the Waverider due to a broken jump drive, Behrad Tarazi and Nate Heywood played Mortal Kombat, with the former playing as Sub-Zero and the latter as Scorpion. As the game was diverting power from flying back to Earth, Sara Lance turned it off, preventing either character from winning.[2]

Sub-Zero transforming into ice and generating an ice sword to beat Blue Beetle
- Cryokinesis: Sub-Zero can generate ice and manipulate it with cold weather.[1]

- Shock wave generation: Sub-Zero is able to hit the ground with ice objects to such a capacity, that he creates a shock wave which knocks other fighters off their feet.[1]

- Notably, the version shown in Arrow is from Injustice 2, which is mostly based on characters from DC Comics. He is one of the "guest characters" in the game, as he is not based on any of DC's properties, and appears as a downloadable character.
- The version shown in DC's Legends of Tomorrow is from the mainline Mortal Kombat series when Zari Tomaz and other Legends played Mortal Kombat II.
- He is the second MK character in the Injustice franchise after Scorpion, who appeared in the previous entry, and the first MK character to appear in the sequel. The other being Raiden.
- The snapshot of Sub-Zero's victory pose is based off the infamous and controversial "Spine Rip" fatality that was made famous by his older brother Bi-Han, also known as Noob Saibot and the first Sub-Zero, except Liang does it to the cameraman up close while breaking fourth wall.
