Biography

Early life

Maya lost both of her parents at some point in her youth.

Young Maya.

Young Maya.

Around 2012, Maya deactivated Harrison Nash Wells's security drone and broke into Nash's camp on Earth (Earth-719). When Nash caught and interrogated her, she explained how the treasure Nash had was worth much more than he knew, and Nash gave a personal hat to Maya as a gift in return. When she revealed she was orphaned, Nash offered her the chance to join in Nash's travels, which she accepted, and Nash informally adopted her on Earth-719.

Maya took Nash's motto of putting their goal of discovery and recovery above everything else; however, she was more willing to endanger herself unlike Nash, throughout their travels across the multiverse.

Afterwards, Maya was Nash's assistant and the two eventually took a photo together. At some point, they visited Corto Maltese (Earth-13), where Maya picked up a sonic emitter at the highest peak on Earth-13.[1][2]

—Nash and Maya's last conversation[src]

Around 2019, Maya and Nash traveled back to Corto Maltese (Earth-13), where they found a hatch off of a cliff with a memory cell inside. Unfortunately, Maya lost her footing on the ledge and, having undone her safety clip, fell to her death.[1]

Legacy

"When I lost Maya... every day since then, I wanted to say, 'Hey, listen, I'm sorry; it was my fault.' But she's gone."

Nash took a long time to forgive himself for Maya's death to which Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash would take advantage of while trying to completely possess Nash's mind. However, Nash finally came to terms with Maya's death and was able to expel the "ghost" with the help of Cecile Horton, Cisco Ramon and Barry Allen.[1]

Allegra Garcia, Maya's Earth-1/Earth-Prime doppelgänger, had a strained relationship every time Nash saw Allegra. Nash thought of his "daughter" and tried to bond with Allegra on that level, but it's only after Nash saw Allegra as her own person and Allegra realized Nash's good intentions that Allegra started warming up to Nash.[3][4]

Allegra kept the picture of Maya and Nash as a reminder of Nash.[5]
