Mason (died 2021) was a resident of Gotham City and the father of Steven. He was killed by Steven as Killer Croc while trying to protect his son from Batwoman.

Biography

During Mason and Steven's father-son fishing trip, Steven caught a Bluegill that had swallowed a large tooth. He made the tooth into a necklace in celebration for the find. However, Steven accidentally gained an infected cut from the tooth. Over time, the infection grew and Steven ended up becoming a reptilian creature, similar to that of Killer Croc, much to Mason's horror.

With no way to cure his son, Mason chained Steven, but he ended up escaping and killing several individuals in Gotham. Mason followed him to the Gotham sewers to prevent anyone from harming him. Upon meeting Batwoman and Alice, Mason explained how Steven turned into Killer Croc and then electrocuted Batwoman to stop her from locking up his son, but Steven appeared and killed him.^[1]

Personality

Mason was a caring father who deeply loved his son Steven. Even after he turned into a monster and killed people, Mason still saw Steven as his son, to the point of electrocuting Batwoman in a futile attempt to protect him.
