Ignatius was a pet dog owned by Lex Luthor when he was young.
Biography
Ignatius was adopted by the Luthor family when Lex Luthor was a child. Lex deeply adored Ignatius, considering the dog to be his closest companion. When Lex was seven years old, Ignatius fell ill and had to be euthanized. Lex's mother, Lillian Luthor, denied her son the chance to be with Ignatius in the dog's final moments as she considered Lex’s sadness a demonstration of weakness.[1]

- Ignatius was Lex Luthor's pet in the 2005 TV animated series Krypto the Superdog and in the 2013 animated short The Legion of Super-Pets. In both instances, Ignatius was an iguana instead of a dog.
