- "Have you ever heard of a place called Egypt? Well, it all began during the rule of Ramesses II, when late one night a big, magical meteor smashed into the Temple of Horus, the hawk-god."
- —Joe Boardman to Aldus Boardman[src]
Horus is a deity revered by Ancient Egyptians as their protector.[1]
Biography
In Ancient Egypt, the Egyptians worshipped Horus as the protector of their civilization, and a clergy was appointed to appease him.[2]
The Staff of Horus & the meteor.
When Nth metal from Thanagar rained down from the skies and onto the Middle Kingdom, Hath-Set's staff became filled with power, which, at the time, he concluded was of mystical nature, and named it the Staff of Horus, after the god.[3] However, by the modern era, his worship had given way to other religions such as Christianity, where the staff of Horus was entombed in the St. Mark's Church in Central City; MO.[4]
