- "Tricked ya! It's acid, with a little ingredient X. I call it 'Axid'."
- —The Trickster to Elongated Man[src]
Axid is an superacid created by the Trickster. It is projected by the Hurty-Squirty Gun. Iris West-Allen referred to Axid as Elongated Man's kryptonite.
History
- "Burn, Stretchy Man, burn!"
- —The Trickster to Elongated Man[src]
The Trickster attacked Elongated Man with Axid while the Flash was in Iron Heights Prison. Despite the stretchy superhero's seemingly indestructible polymerized cells, the Axid harmed him, burning through his suit and skin.[1]
Functions
- "It's got a pH level in the negative 50s, and all it did was burn through your skin?"
- —Harry Wells to Ralph Dibny[src]
- Extreme corrosiveness: Axid is an extremely corrosive and potent superacid, claimed to have a pH level of at most -50. Hence, it was able to burn through Ralph's skin and suit, despite his cells being completely polymerized and resistant to damage. According to the telemetry of Ralph's suit, his heart rate was off the charts when he was attacked with Axid. Cisco also stated it would melt a normal human, and it also quickly dissolved a Beebo toy. It took time for Ralph to heal from the injury. However, Axid has its limits, as it was contained by galvanized steel, and Harry was able to neutralize its acidity.
